About Avanti West Coast

Good to know on Avanti West Coast
- Avanti West Coast pays after 15 minutes' delay, no matter what caused it. The delay is measured at your destination station against the timetable on the day, which can include an emergency timetable Avanti has published.
- If part of your journey was on another operator's train, claim from the operator whose train delayed you. Avanti's charter says that if it did not cause the delay, it will ask the other train company to contact you.
- Avanti West Coast pays at most a full day's travel (pro rata). You can't claim the same money twice, for example under both Delay Repay and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- If you claim by post, Avanti West Coast pays by cheque or National Rail Travel Vouchers only, as it doesn't take card or bank details on paper claims.
