On your computer

The Railhop browser extension

The Railhop browser extension fills in your train company's Delay Repay form on a computer, from the claim you prepared on railhop.app. You check the form, add how you'd like to be paid and submit it yourself. Railhop never submits claims. When you ask on railhop.app, it can also fetch your TfL statement.

How it works

You prepare the claim on railhop.app. The extension does the typing.

  1. Open your claim

On railhop.app, open the delayed journey's claim. Press its "Fill in … form for me" button.

  2. Railhop fills in the form

The train company's own form opens in a new tab. A Railhop box shows each step.

  3. It asks if it needs more

Like a ticket number. Bank details go in only if you saved them.

  4. You check and submit

Read the form, tick "I'm not a robot" and press Submit. The train company pays you.

Add Railhop to your browser

Add it from your browser's own store, then open a claim on railhop.app.

What it never does

  • Submit a claim. You check the form and press Submit yourself. Railhop never submits claims.
  • Send your bank details anywhere but the train company's form. Signed in, they come from your Railhop account for that claim only; signed out, they stay on your computer, encrypted.
  • Run on TfL's website unless you start it on railhop.app. Then only in the tab it opens, for 30 minutes at most.
  • Fill a form you opened yourself. It works only in the tab Railhop opened for your claim.
  • Fill passwords or card numbers, or sign in for you. It never touches "I'm not a robot" checks either.
  • Show adverts or track you. No analytics, no tracking.

What it costs

Checking your journeys is free.

£0Free to checkCheck journeys and statements as often as you like. No account needed.

Your data stays with you

Your claim goes from your Railhop page straight to the train company's form. Railhop never submits claims for you.

  • Bank details added once. Kept in your Railhop account, encrypted, to fill the train company's payment step; we email you whenever they change. Signed out, the extension keeps them on your computer instead.
  • Only the claim reference comes back. So it's saved with your claim in your Railhop account.
  • No TfL or train company passwords. You sign in to them yourself, on their own pages.
  • No adverts or tracking. It works only on railhop.app, the claim forms it knows and, when you ask, TfL. Privacy policy

Questions

Which browsers does the Railhop extension work in?

Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on a computer. It doesn't work on phones or in Safari. On an iPhone, the Railhop app fills in the form for you instead.

Does the extension submit my claim?

No. Railhop never submits claims. The extension fills in the train company's own form and stops. You check it, tick "I'm not a robot" and press Submit yourself, and the train company pays you directly.

Which train companies does it fill in?

Avanti West Coast, c2c, Caledonian Sleeper, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Gatwick Express, Grand Central, Great Northern, Greater Anglia, GWR, Heathrow Express, Hull Trains, Island Line, LNER, London Northwestern Railway, Lumo, Merseyrail, Northern, ScotRail, South Western Railway, Southeastern, Southern, Stansted Express, Thameslink, TransPennine Express, Transport for Wales and West Midlands Railway. It only fills in a form in the tab Railhop opened for your claim.

Does Railhop see my bank details?

No. If you choose, the extension keeps your bank or PayPal details on your computer only, encrypted and unlocked only when your computer checks it's you. They go only into the train company's own payment form, never to Railhop's server.

What does the extension send to Railhop?

Only the train company's claim reference, with the company, travel date and train, so it's saved with your claim in your Railhop account. It also asks railhop.app whether its features are switched on, sending nothing about you. Your name, address, ticket and payment details are never sent.

Does it run on TfL's website?

Only when you start it on railhop.app, by pressing "Get My Statement from TfL". It opens TfL's contactless website in a new tab and you sign in there yourself. In that tab only, it fetches your statement and hands it to your Railhop page. It never sees your TfL password.

Does it fill in passwords or card numbers?

No. It never fills passwords or card numbers, never signs in or creates accounts for you, and never touches "I'm not a robot" checks.
